Summer is (sadly) over, my golf leagues have come to an all-too-soon end, and there’s a nip in the air, even the most glorious autumn days. That must mean it’s time for my Fall newsletter. And because it’s been a while, I have plenty of news.
I’m starting with my new author photo, as well as a link to my post on Author Photos featured recently on The Stiletto Gang. Along with a gallery of some of my past photos (which definitely illustrate the passage of time) I make the admission that “unless you’re young and dewy-eyed OR spectacularly gorgeous, most female authors approach getting new professional author photos with the same dread that might be reserved for bathing suit shopping.” (Shopping for new glasses comes a close second.)
Speaking of The Stiletto Gang, I wrote this heartfelt and very honest post: “From Pink Slip to Published Author” for them. If you’re interested in my backstory, you’ll find it here.
And now, for the news…
COVER REVEAL: A Fatal Affair: The Murder of Helen Grier
Pre-order in select markets at books2read.com/afatalaffair
The cover photo is the actual cabin where Helen’s body was discovered on October 28, 1937. Our graphic artist is Cassie Amond, Diamond Creative Studio, and she has been incredible to work with. We even have matching bookmarks!
We’re also planning a book launch that promises to be an “event” as well as a launch.

Crimeucopia Presents Canadian Chronicles
My short story, Murder in the Marsh, is part of this all-Canadian collection (every story is set in Canada, every author is Canadian). Only the publisher is from the UK! I wrote this story several years ago, inspired by my cycling trips around the Holland Marsh (minus the dead body).
My A Fatal Affair co-author, Amanda Capper, is also included, with her story, The Lake, set along the shores of Lake Superior. Available in print and Kindle.
UNTIL NEXT TIME!
