True confession time. I’ve actually been known to check out the latest “news feed” on Harry and Meghan, Keith and Nicole, or Taylor and Kelce (though I do draw the line at clicking on anything about any Kardashian).
And (head held down in shame), I’ve also been sucked in by the latest “old” celebrity who still “looks great in a bikini” post. Which, of course, only makes me realize that the last time I looked great in a bikini was sometime in the last century.
But, now, after clicking on yet another story about the Beckhams (I don’t follow soccer, never got into the Spice Girls, and I’m not too sure why they’re suddenly “trending”), I have to ask myself WHY? These people mean nothing to me, in fact, they almost certainly don’t even know I exist. So… 2024 resolution (and I’m not much on resolutions), I promise not to click on another “headline that doesn’t matter.”
Will I succeed? I hope so. Because the one thing I do resolve to do is make every day in 2024 matter.

Yes, must confess, too, that I occasionally get curious about some of those ‘celebs’…and afterward I feel like I’ve wasted a lot of time. That icky feeling like you’ve eaten too much of something, then moan and groan. Vow to never do it again. I’m with you on the Kardashian hype, have never watched, won’t, anything of theirs nor will I watch the ‘view’…it warrants small letters only. Not for political reasons…more so, that women should be involved in something worthwhile instead of ranting, raving and lack of acceptance for others. Oh my…I’m over my limit … time to get back to work! Have a great northern day!
Absolutely with you on the ‘view’ and yes, it feels a bit like eating too much crap! Which, of course, it is! Thanks for chiming in.
I’m also guilty of getting sucked into the teases of celebrity and royal news. I congratulate your determination to break the habit. I’m thinking of starting with baby steps. Can’t go cold turkey just yet.
Ha! Too true Debra. I did look at a news feed on the Golden Globes (I justify that as determining what is worthwhile watching) but that did lead to another article on Taylor Swift’s green dress LOL.
What’s that old Annie Dillard quote? Something like “How you live your day is how you live your life”?
thanks Sharon, That’s a good quote!
