If someone had told me back when I started this whole Author Judy persona that I’d be on podcasts and doing webinars, I would have laughed out loud. ME? I’m the girl who everyone felt sorry for in high school when it came to doing a presentation. I still have nightmares over my (VERY BORING) speech about Sir Isaac Newton and his theory on gravity. Maybe if I’d walked in with an apple on my head…
But today as “Author Judy” I am often asked to take part in all sorts of things. Webinars presented to Crime Writers of Canada, Sisters in Crime Toronto, Capitol Crime Writers, New Tecumseth Public Library…and many more. Podcasts and radio interviews. Seriously, who knew? And I truly am grateful.
But here’s the thing. Sharing is caring. In some cases, it’s a members-only thing that can’t be shared. But in many cases, it’s out there for those who may be interested. Because of that, I’ve added an “Enough about me, here’s more about me'” section on the About page of this website. I’ve even included the approximate time that you’ll need to invest.
I dare you to take a look.
I double dare you to listen.
And if you get through both and want to leave a comment…well, then, you’re just another reason for me to be #grateful.
End of the year and here I am trying to catch up on last month’s ‘want to do’ list. How do you do it, Judy?
One thing that helps me is I no longer deal with Michigan weather. I’m in the sunny south (North Carolina, that is.) Only it’s not sunny today. A hardy rain storm blowing up the coast and we’re getting a huge wave of it. I think about what it would be if this moisture was falling in my home state. Up to my knees no doubt. At any rate, I admire you stamina Judy, and while most of the time I am a gazer, I’m trying to be more active outside my writing nest. I’m considering Malice in April…maybe…if I catch up. Cheers, Wil
I don’t know how I do it sometimes, Wil! But if I’m doing this, I’m not doing that, and if I’m doing that, I’m not doing this. We all just do the best we can! Thanks for popping by. No Malice for me in 2024, though I have signed up for LCC Seattle.
I love your blog posts. After looking at your scheduled events, I see you are “free” in April. Please come down to Bethesda, MD again for Malice Domestic 36! We Guppies miss seeing you in person. You have much to share with us, Judy.
Your fan, Beth Schmelzer
Thank you for following along, Beth. It is very much appreciated. Unfortunately the timing is off this year for Malice — there is a planned local event at the end of April and I have volunteered to be one of the organizers. But I miss Malice and plan to be there again one of these days!
