Recently, I was introduced to Shepherd.com, a book recommendation portal created by Ben Fox. As of this writing, 6,000+ authors have shared 5 “Best” book recommendations, while also introducing readers to one of their own titles. I love the idea of authors helping other authors, not to mention sharing some of my favorite reads.
Authors are asked to pick a topic (in my case, best cold case mysteries with a twist… or three) and then select 5 books they have read and would recommend, and the reasons why. My list can be found here. I truly enjoyed each one of these books, and have read others by the authors with equal pleasure. New year, new reads…what can be better than that? And if you love a good cold case mystery the way I do, Shepherd.com has more to offer. Check them out here.
PS: I’ve since become a FOUNDING MEMBER of Shepherd.com.
Just checked it out John, very cool. Folks, here’s a link to John’s fabulous book and his recommendations. Those who love to cruise will love these! https://shepherd.com/best-books/ocean-liners-and-cruises
I was asked last year to put ‘Secrets of the Great Ocean Liners’ on Shepherd and the process is easy and straightforward. Very professional. It was a real challenge to find only 5 other books that might be of interest because I wanted to cover a wide range of tastes and interests, and there are so many facets when you get beyond Titanic!.
