Okay, maybe that Subject Line is a bit misleading…I’m not actually hanging out with the amazingly talented Tana French in person…but my book, Skeletons in the Attic, was selected, along with Tana’s latest standalone, The Searcher, as the March group read for the Goodreads Mystery, Crime, and Thriller Group.

Anyone who knows me knows that I have been an unabashed fan of Tana French since reading her debut novel, In The Woods. If you haven’t read her Dublin Murder Squad series, I highly recommend it, and while you don’t have to start at the beginning, you should, if only to see how clever she is, taking a minor character from one book, and making them a major one in the next.

As for setting, I’ve never been to Ireland, but French’s imagery of the place and the people is so vivid, on reading you’ll feel as if you’ve been transported there. Find out more about her here…and if you love a virtual book club, you can do no better than the Goodreads Mystery, Crime, and Thriller Group. There’s a theme each month, members nominate books they think will be of interest, and then the group votes on the list of nominations, selecting two titles. The March theme was “Women Writers of Crime.”
