I’m not sure when I first met Debra Goldstein — it might have been at Malice Domestic in 2016 — but I do remember having coffee with her at Bouchercon Toronto in 2017. In addition to be a really fine writer and interesting person, Debra is also a Judge (like a real one!). She’s also one of the authors that share the Stiletto Gang blog page. Debra has recently released a collection of short stories, and it’s my pleasure to tell you more about it, and Debra.

Title: With Our Bellies Full and the Fire Dying: Tales of Sinning and Redemption

About the book: With Our Bellies Full and the Fire Dying is a collection of eighteen short stories, ranging from cozy to dark, centering around family and friends, their sins, and their sometimes redemption. Most of the stories have won prizes or been finalists for the Agatha, Anthony, and Derringer awards.

About the author: Judge Debra H. Goldstein is the author of With Our Bellies Full and the Fire Dying, a collection of her short stories, as well as Kensington’s Sarah Blair mystery series, and two standalone novels: IPPY award winning Maze in Blue and Should Have Played Poker: a Carrie Martin and the Mah Jongg Players Mystery. Her short stories, which have been named Agatha, Anthony, and Derringer finalists, have appeared in numerous periodicals and anthologies including Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine, Black Cat Mystery Magazine, Mystery Weekly, Malice Domestic Murder Most Edible, Masthead, Murder by the Glass, Jukes & Tonks, and Paranoia Blues: Songs Inspired by the Music of Paul Simon. Debra serves on the national board of Sisters in Crime and previously was on Mystery Writers of America’s national board and was president of the Guppy and SEMWA chapters.
