Missing Mom by Lynn Slaughter
This year, I’ve started a “new” blog series titled AUTHORS HELPING AUTHORS. In truth, it’s pretty much the same as previous incarnations (INTRODUCING YOU TO and NEW RELEASE MONDAYS) but I think the title is more apt, because as authors, I believe we should try to help one another with our very unenviable task of shameless self-promotion. These won’t be long posts, but rather serve as “book teasers”—a brief introduction to the author and their latest work.
My first guest is Lynn Slaughter, who is here to promote her latest young adult (YA) romantic mystery, MISSING MOM. Lynn is a member of Sisters in Crime, including the Guppies and Derby Rotten Scoundrels, the Ohio River Valley chapter of Sisters in Crime.

About the book: Never mind the circumstantial evidence. Seventeen-year-old Noelle, an aspiring ballet dancer, is convinced her missing mother would never have committed suicide and launches her own investigation. Meantime, she’s dealing with growing romantic feelings toward her best friend and fellow dancer Ravi, as well as concerns about why her little sister is so reluctant to visit their father. Threaded throughout the novel is the story of Savannah, a young woman whose escape nearly twenty years earlier from an abusive relationship turns out to be related to Noelle’s investigation.
