Connections

I admit it. I waste at least an hour every day (and sometimes more) doing several New York Times Games. It started with Wordle and has expanded to include the Mini Crossword (I love NYT Crosswords, but buy the spiral-bound Monday to Friday editions, which I always complete in pencil (never pen), Connections (Love it but don’t always get there in time), LetterBoxed, and Spelling Bee. My least favorite Spelling Bees are the ones that include “ed” and “ing” because it increases the number of words tenfold and then it becomes boring. And some of the words they won’t include (vs. some they will) are head-scratchers but…play it long enough and you get the gist. The thing is, I will not quit until I reach Queen Bee (though once I reach Genius, I will use Spelling Bee Buddy). In Canada, NYT has introduced Zorse as a beta test. I don’t love this one but I will do it some days.

Anyway, this goes a long way to explaining why my daily word counts are sometimes compromised — or written well into the night. But I like to think that I am keeping my brain sharp and I’ve definitely learned a few new words!
