Breaking News: Writers Digest Award

The first thing I do each morning before settling into work mode is to check my email. Mostly it’s not too exciting. But this morning I received this email from Writers Digest.

Hi, Judy!

Congratulations! Out of almost 700 submissions, your e-book, Finding YOUR Path to Publication: A Step-by-Step Guide, was awarded First Place in the Prescriptive/Informative Nonfiction category of the 12th Annual Writer’s Digest Self-Published E-book Awards.

You’ve won:

  • $1,000 in cash
  • Your name and book title published in Writer’s Digest magazine’s May/June 2025 issue
  • Promotion on WritersDigest.com in conjunction with the May/June 2025 issue release
  • A one-year subscription to Writer’s Digest (new or renewal)

More information on your prizes, along with a nifty winner’s graphic to use in promoting your win will be sent by the WD competitions department toward the end of January.

Obviously I am over the moon. This is the same book that won the 2024 Killer Nashville Silver Falchion Award. While these sorts of niche books will never earn what I like to call “Stephen King money,” it’s wonderful validation. Stay tuned!
