Have you missed me? I’ve been away from this blog for a few weeks, but I have a very good reason. You see, my husband Mike and I have recently sold our house in Alliston, Ontario, and are now living fulltime at our place on Lake Superior. It’s a small winterized house on the water, with a lovely property and a fabulous view, though we are looking for a small “city/winter” house in Sault Ste. Marie, which is about 40 minutes away. Since Alliston was an 8-hour drive, it will be nice to have a place close to our camp (as they call cottages or homes on the lake here). Even so, it’s a huge adjustment for me (for Mike, not so much, as he has been spending more and more time here, even in winter) and we’ve had to put a lot of things in storage (even though we sold a lot of things). How does one accumulate so much?

In addition to getting the house ready for sale, listing stuff on Facebook Marketplace, packing and moving, I’ve been hard at work on finishing Marketville #4, working with my editor, beta readers, proofreader and cover artist. More on that in the weeks to come, but I will tell you the book is titled Before There Were Skeletons. I’m really excited about it. It’s my most ambitious plot to date, but I’m happy with how it’s turned out. I hope readers agree! Early reviews have been great, and I’ll share those in due course.

I’ve also been getting in a lot of golf. I joined two ladies 9-hole leagues in the Soo and they have been so much fun! Of course, golf is a humbling game (check your ego at the pro shop) but I love being out there with new friends and acquaintances. And of course, reading, sunset watching, and hanging out at the lake with Gibbs, our Golden Retriever.

I promise to try to resume my Saturday blogs with more regularity. In the meantime, FORE!
