I’m the only child of two very strict European immigrant parents (no sleepovers for this kid). Both have passed on, my father at age 42 (stomach cancer) and my mother in 2016 after a lengthy battle with COPD. But while they are no longer a physical presence in my life, there is one golden rule they instilled in me: Never forget where you came from. They didn’t mean, “don’t forget you grew up on the wrong side of the 401 in Scarborough,” rather, “don’t take yourself too seriously, and for heaven’s sake, don’t be a braggart.”
Because of that, book promotion is difficult for me. Even so, it’s a necessary evil of the publishing world. I’ve been very fortunate to have been part of a few podcasts and radio interviews where, I hope, readers can get to know me, and in so doing, learn a little bit more about my books.
Most recently, I took part in Lurking for Legends, an interactive podcast produced by Richard H. Stephens, with David M. Kelly. It was “Mystery Night” and joining me were Val Tobin and Ann Charles, two very prolific authors. We read from our books, everyone playing a character or a narrator, and it really just felt like 45 minutes of fun and laughs. If you’re interested, you can listen on YouTube or Facebook. Warning: I’m not going to win any acting awards!
And if, by some remote chance, you find me endlessly fascinating (as my dog, Gibbs, seems to, bless his heart), then you can find a link to several more podcasts and interviews on my About Page under…you guessed it, Enough About Me, Here’s More About Me.
